Milos residences – High end agricultural resort in Milos, 2023-

In the Mavromouri area of Milos, Human Point is undertaking the construction of five independent ground-level residences with both above-ground and semi-underground sections. The development is designed to integrate harmoniously into the natural landscape, following the site’s contour lines and preserving its rugged topography.
Architectural planning prioritized minimal landscape disturbance and optimal orientation toward the horizon and sea views. Due to the plot’s elongated shape, limited buildable area, and steep slope, the volumes were divided into three building clusters to efficiently utilize the allowable footprint.
The two above-ground buildings include landscaped outdoor areas and swimming pools with unobstructed sea views. Four semi-underground volumes feature skylights for natural lighting and ventilation,
as well as private outdoor spaces—three of which also include pools. The plot’s northwest slope enhances visual access toward the sea and the port of Adamas.
The residences comprise shared living, dining, and kitchen spaces, along with bedrooms and bathrooms distributed across both building levels. All units include private pools, soft landscaping, and access via a shared internal road. Lastly, the surrounding landscape features planting areas/cultivations and shared spaces for general fitness activities.
The design draws inspiration from the traditional Cycladic vernacular, using a natural color palette and locally sourced materials. Above-ground structures are rendered in ochre and terracotta-toned plaster, while semi-underground façades are clad in local stone.

Openings feature dark grey wooden frames, and outdoor flooring consists of pale cement screed. Stone retaining walls and white timber pergolas provide shading and visual continuity. Landscaping includes native drought-resistant plants, prickly pears, shrubs, and olive trees, promoting ecological integration and sustainability.
